PlexR

Plasma Pen for Soft Surgery

Treatment

PlexR Plasmatology

PlexR (or plasma soft surgery) is a non-surgical treatment used to treat many different skin issues.  It can be used to lift the eyes (blepharoplasty), neck, jowls, and sides of face by treating the skin laxity and it can be used to improve scars, treat moles, skin tags and other unwanted superficial skin lesions. Unlike surgical treatments for these problem areas, PlexR does not require general anaesthetic and recovery time is much shorter.

The treatment uses plasma – the fourth state of matter after solid, liquid and gas – and is performed using wireless handheld devices which are manufactured in Italy. The PlexR soft surgery device has been used and licensed in several countries worldwide over the last ten years. It is the first fully licensed plasma technology to be introduced in Canada.

The Benefits of PlexR

*No risk or permanent side effects

*Very little pain – we do apply local anesthetic

*Rapid recovery time

*Lower cost compared to traditional surgery

What does PlexR treat?

  • Skin Laxity

  • Wrinkles – especially around the mouth and eyes

  • Benign skin lesions

  • Active acne and acne scarring

  • Non-surgical Blepharoplasty

  • Scarring – stretch marks

  • Moles and skin tags

What to Expect?

Following a consultation to see if you are a suitable candidate for Plexr, when you return for the procedure numbing cream is applied to minimize any discomfort.

Treatment time, including topical numbing cream, may be 20-60 minutes depending on the treatment area.

One to three treatments may be needed for each area at 6-8 week intervals.

The treatment is performed with dots created by the Plexr device to sublimate (change from solid to gas) the superficial skin cells without bleeding or damage to surrounding tissue.

Following treatment, the areas treated will be red with swelling. At the site of each dot, there will be a carbon crust that should not be touched except to camouflage for 7 days. You will need to keep the treated area clean, dry and protected from sun exposure or direct sources of heat for a minimum of 30 days. You will be given creams to apply for the following week which can aid with the healing process.

What are the risks and complications of PlexR?

Some of the Side Effects of PlexR include:

1) Pain at the treatment site

2) Although the risk if very low, there is a risk of pigmentation or scarring at the treatment site if the proper preparation and/or after care is not adhered to.  We will give all of this information (and more) to you before, during and after your treatment

When will I see results and how long do they last?

Results are visible immediately and improve over 2 months as healing sets in.

On some occasions 1-2 more treatments are needed.
