Radiesse® Injectable Filler in Southampton, Ontario

It provides immediate volume and may support collagen production over time. At Allure Medical Aesthetics in Southampton, Ontario, Radiesse treatment is planned only after a personalized consultation. What Is Radiesse®?

Radiesse is an injectable dermal filler made with calcium hydroxylapatite (CaHA) microspheres suspended in a gel carrier. It is commonly described as a biostimulator filler because it may provide immediate structural support while also supporting your body’s collagen response over time. After placement, the gel carrier provides initial volume. The calcium-based microspheres act as a temporary framework within the tissue. As the product is gradually metabolized, the collagen response and visible duration vary by treatment area, product placement, dose, metabolism, and individual factors. Radiesse is not a hyaluronic-acid filler. It cannot be dissolved with hyaluronidase in the way that many hyaluronic-acid fillers can. For this reason, appropriate patient selection, placement, and injector experience are essential.

What Can Radiesse Treat?

Radiesse may be considered for selected concerns, including:

  • Moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds.
  • Nasolabial folds, sometimes called smile lines or laugh lines.
  • Marionette lines and selected lower-face folds.
  • Facial volume loss where Radiesse is clinically appropriate.
  • Cheek and midface contouring in selected patients.
  • Chin and jawline definition in selected patients.
  • Pre-jowl or lower-face contour concerns.
  • Age-related volume loss on the back of the hands.
  • Skin-quality concerns in selected areas using an individualized diluted or hyperdilute Radiesse protocol.

Not every area is appropriate for Radiesse. It is generally not a first-choice product for lips, tear troughs, or under-eye hollows because these areas require highly specific assessment and may be better suited to another treatment or no filler at all.

Radiesse for Facial Volume and Contouring

Facial ageing can involve changes in bone, fat, skin, and soft-tissue support. Radiesse filler may be used in selected facial areas to provide structure and contour while maintaining a balanced, natural-looking result. Your provider may discuss Radiesse for cheek support, jawline definition, chin contouring, nasolabial folds, marionette lines, or lower-face volume loss. The right treatment depends on your facial proportions, skin quality, existing volume, movement patterns, and desired level of change. A conservative approach is often best. Adding more product is not always the answer; in some cases, a different filler, neuromodulator, skin treatment, biostimulator, or surgical referral may be more appropriate.

Radiesse for Hand Rejuvenation

The hands can show age through volume loss, visible tendons, veins, and changes in skin quality. Radiesse hand filler may be considered to improve the appearance of volume loss on the back of the hands in appropriate candidates. Hand rejuvenation is personalized. Your provider will assess skin thickness, visible structures, circulation, hand function, health history, and goals before

recommending treatment.

Hyperdilute Radiesse for Skin Quality

Hyperdilute Radiesse refers to Radiesse that has been diluted with a compatible solution and placed using a technique designed for selected skin-quality goals rather than focused structural volume. It may be discussed for areas such as the neck, chest, décolletage, or selected body areas where skin laxity and crepey texture are concerns. This is a specialized, individualized approach and may be an off-label use. The exact protocol, treatment area, number of sessions, expected results, and risks must be discussed during consultation. Hyperdilute Radiesse does not replace surgical skin tightening when skin laxity is significant.

How Radiesse® Works

Radiesse treatment begins with an assessment and a customized injection plan. The skin is cleansed, and topical anesthetic or other comfort measures may be used if appropriate. Radiesse is placed in selected tissue planes using a needle or cannula technique, depending on the treatment area and injector’s clinical judgment. It may provide immediate volume after placement, while collagen-related changes may develop gradually over the months that follow. Treatment time depends on the area or areas being treated. Your provider will review the expected treatment process, product quantity, potential need for follow-up, and aftercare before proceeding.

Radiesse Results and Longevity

Radiesse results may be visible immediately because the product provides volume and support at the time of injection. Changes related to collagen stimulation may develop more gradually.

The original Allure page states that results may last a year or more in many patients. Duration is not guaranteed and depends on the area treated, treatment plan, metabolism, facial movement, lifestyle, skin quality, and individual response. Before-and-after photos can show individual outcomes, but they cannot predict your result. Your provider will discuss what is realistically achievable for your anatomy and concern.

Radiesse Recovery and Aftercare

Most clients are able to return to many normal daily activities after Radiesse treatment. However, temporary swelling, bruising, redness, tenderness, itching, firmness, or discomfort at injection sites can occur. Your provider may recommend avoiding strenuous exercise, alcohol, significant heat exposure, pressure on the treated area, and certain skincare or cosmetic treatments for a defined period. Follow your individualized post-treatment instructions carefully. Contact the clinic promptly if you experience increasing pain, blanching or unusual skin colour changes, severe swelling, significant bruising, visual symptoms, fever, pus-like discharge, or any symptom that concerns you. Urgent medical assessment may be needed for rare vascular complications associated with dermal filler injections.

Radiesse Side Effects and Safety

All injectable fillers carry risks. Common short-term effects after Radiesse injection can include redness, swelling, bruising, pain, itching, tenderness, lumps, or firmness at the treatment site. Less common but important risks include infection, delayed inflammation, nodules, asymmetry, skin injury, allergic reaction, injury to nearby structures, and vascular occlusion. Vascular occlusion is rare but serious and requires urgent assessment. Radiesse may not be appropriate for everyone. Pregnancy, breastfeeding, active infection, certain allergies, bleeding disorders, anticoagulant medications,

uncontrolled medical conditions, previous filler complications, and specific autoimmune or healing concerns should be reviewed during consultation.

Radiesse vs Sculptra vs HA Fillers

Radiesse vs Sculptra

Radiesse is a calcium hydroxylapatite filler that may provide immediate structural volume while supporting collagen production. Sculptra is a poly-L-lactic acid biostimulator typically used in a series to support gradual collagen production and broad volume restoration. Neither option is automatically better. The most appropriate choice depends on your goals, treatment area, degree of volume loss, desired timeline, risk profile, and clinical assessment.

Radiesse vs Juvederm or Restylane

Juvederm and Restylane are examples of hyaluronic-acid fillers. HA fillers are used for selected volume and contour concerns and can generally be treated with hyaluronidase if medically necessary. Radiesse has a different composition and is not dissolved with hyaluronidase. This difference is particularly important in areas such as the lips and under-eye region, where product choice and injection technique require careful judgment.

Radiesse vs Hyperdilute Radiesse

Standard Radiesse may be used when immediate structure, contour, or volume is a goal. Hyperdilute Radiesse uses a different dilution and treatment approach for selected skin-quality concerns. Suitability, results, and risks differ by technique and area.

Radiesse Cost and Pricing

Radiesse cost depends on the treatment area, number of syringes, injection technique, product amount, whether a standard or hyperdilute approach is appropriate, and the individualized treatment plan.

No. Radiesse is a calcium hydroxylapatite filler, while products such as Juvederm and Restylane are hyaluronic-acid fillers. They differ in composition, use, and

reversibility.

Radiesse is not dissolved with hyaluronidase, unlike many hyaluronic-acid fillers. This is why product selection and injection planning are important.

These are high-risk or highly specialized areas. Radiesse is generally not the first- choice product for lips, tear troughs, or under-eye hollows. A consultation is needed to determine the safest and most appropriate option.

Hyperdilute Radiesse is Radiesse mixed with a compatible solution and used with a technique intended for selected skin-quality concerns, such as crepey skin or laxity in areas like the neck or chest. It is individualized and may be off-label.

Temporary swelling, redness, bruising, tenderness, itching, lumps, or firmness can occur. Less common risks include infection, nodules, asymmetry, skin injury, and rare vascular complications.

Many clients resume daily activities promptly, but temporary swelling or bruising may occur. Follow the aftercare instructions provided by your injector.
