Laser Vaginal Rejuvenation with Athena®

Athena® uses fractional laser energy delivered through the ETHEREA-MX platform. The treatment creates controlled stimulation in the targeted tissue, which may encourage collagen production and support tissue remodelling. Depending on your concerns and assessment, treatment may target:

• Vaginal tissue affected by dryness or reduced elasticity.
• Vaginal laxity after childbirth or with age.
• Vulvar tissue changes.
• Symptoms associated with genitourinary changes during menopause.

• Mild stress urinary leakage.

Athena® is a non-surgical treatment. It does not involve incisions, general anesthesia, or surgical vaginal tightening. Your provider will explain whether it is an appropriate option for your goals.

Athena® may be suitable for healthy adult women who are experiencing intimate changes related to aging, childbirth, or menopause. It may be worth discussing vaginal laser rejuvenation if you are looking for:

• A non-surgical vaginal tightening treatment.
• Support for vaginal dryness or reduced lubrication.
• A private assessment for intimate wellness concerns.
• An option that does not require surgical recovery.
• Medical guidance for changes in comfort, sensation, or bladder control.

An Athena® session generally takes approximately 30 to 50 minutes in the clinic. The exact treatment plan depends on the area being treated and your individual concerns. During your appointment, your provider will: 1. Discuss your symptoms, expectations, and treatment goals. 2. Review your medical history and confirm whether treatment is appropriate. 3. Explain the procedure, potential benefits, limitations, and aftercare. 4. Deliver the laser treatment using the selected settings. 5. Provide personalized post-treatment instructions.

Many patients describe the treatment as manageable, but comfort can vary. Your provider will explain what you may feel during the procedure and answer questions before treatment begins.

Athena® is designed as a non-surgical treatment with little to no expected downtime for many patients. You may usually return to regular daily activities after your appointment, depending on how you feel and the advice provided by your clinician. Your provider may recommend avoiding sexual intercourse for approximately seven days after treatment to allow the tissue to begin healing. Follow the specific aftercare instructions given at your appointment. Some women notice changes within a few weeks. Improvements in tissue tightness, sensitivity, lubrication, or stress urinary leakage may continue to develop over approximately six to twelve weeks. Results vary and are not guaranteed. Because the body continues to age and hormonal changes may continue, maintenance treatment may be discussed when appropriate.

Athena® vaginal laser rejuvenation is a medical treatment and should only be performed after an appropriate health assessment. Although many patients tolerate treatment well, side effects and complications are possible. Your provider will discuss the potential risks, expected sensations, aftercare, and alternatives before treatment. Contact the clinic if you experience unexpected or worsening symptoms after your appointment. Athena® may not be appropriate if you are:

• Pregnant or breastfeeding.
• Experiencing an active vaginal, vulvar, or urinary infection.
• Experiencing an active herpes outbreak.
• Living with an uncontrolled medical or hormonal condition.

• Taking photosensitizing medications.
• Living with uncontrolled diabetes.
• Experiencing unexplained bleeding or an undiagnosed pelvic health concern.
• Living with a condition that affects healing or blood clotting.
• Affected by a medical condition involving the treatment area.

Menopause can affect vaginal tissue, lubrication, elasticity, and comfort. Some women experience dryness, irritation, discomfort during intercourse, or urinary symptoms as hormone levels change. It is not suitable for everyone, and it does not replace a medical assessment or hormone- related care when those treatments are indicated.
